St
Patrick walked the mountains of
mourneaway on his walk before the dawn
he walked the crystal mountain stream
taking rest when needed
giving him precious time to sit and dream
he walked for miles in the mid day heat
then chose a place to take a seat
to catch his breath and wash his feet
he sat on granite with feet in soak
giving thanks above with praying hands
with god he spoke
thanking god for his life and all his surroundings
was all he needed to say
as he sat by the stream overlooking the breath taking
dundrum bay
the holy stones that touched the skin of st
Patrick's feet on that very day
over a thousand years made their way down to finally rest upon the bay
the waves wash over the pebbles of peace
to bring rest to
Ireland and the troubles will cease
each wave that washes over the sacred pebbles
echoing a last goodbye to all the rebels
each magical
piece of stone
washed down over the years from st
Patrick's stream
keeping alive
Ireland's dream
from stone to pebble,
from stream to shore
fulfilling st
Patrick's dream, peace in
Ireland forever more.
